The Role

In this role, you will help take our app of today and transform it into a broader platform of tomorrow. Importantly, this includes laying a great foundation for other engineers to build on. We are looking for a fullstack engineer who is motivated to solve complex problems, write scalable software, and produce direct user-facing business impact. This role will include translating business requirements to actual implementation, designing, and building platforms, services, and configurable and scalable models. Last but not least, mentoring junior members of the team and setting the best engineering practices.

The Responsibilities

  • You will design and build software capable of reaching our users
  • You will partner with product managers, designers, and analysts to deeply understand the needs of our users and create a product that serves those needs
  • You will develop and execute against both short and long-term roadmaps, making effective tradeoffs between business impact, user experience, and a high-quality technical foundation
  • You will improve the team and company – you will be an active participant in our culture (mentorship, interviewing, and new initiatives)
  • You will support your fellow engineers through feedback, code reviews, and advancement of internal tools and processes
  • You will optimize components for maximum performance across a vast array of web-capable devices and browsers
  • You will help translate designs and wireframes into high-quality code

About You

  • 6+ years of working experience
  • Have experience with web development
  • Have experience with React, TypeScript, and graphql
  • Have experience with modern backend technologies. Python/Django preferred
  • You'll need to be able to work from the United States or Canada
  • US work authorization is preferred but can work with all candidates on a case by case basis

Nice-to-haves

  • BS or MS in computer science, engineering, or other technical degrees
  • You enjoy playing a part in product management and road mapping occasionally
  • Articulate, organized, detail-oriented, and the ability to work in a dynamic, fast-changing collaborative environment
